Emma Thomas, an Abstract Artist based in Melbourne, creates fabulous pieces that are quite literally bursting with colour! We spoke with the lovely Emma recently to find out what drives her exciting work.

I am a sucker for a good cozy mystery book! Now that it’s winter here in Melbourne, there is nothing better than snuggling up in front of the heater with a hot cup of coffee and a good book while listening to the rain flooding your backyard… ahh good times!
Salvador Dali, a renowned artist of the surrealist movement, is popular for his imaginative and dream like paintings (and that moustache!). Dali has left us many masterpieces including ‘The Persistence of Memory’ and ‘Apparition of a Face & Fruit Dish on a Beach’. However, Dali had also created a collection of boldly coloured illustrations for Lewis Caroll’s classic tale ‘Alice in Wonderland’ (1865) to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of this beloved children’s tale.
A few years ago, I had read this book and found that I just couldn’t put it down. Now, having just finished it again, it’s even better! It is an amazing read, especially for those with a keen interest in the environment and sustainability in design.
I recently stumbled on an article about a Serbian Artist: Marina Abramovic I found strangely interesting… Something about this woman just grabbed my attention so I looked into some of her work and truth be told, I find her to be disturbingly intriguing!
