1. Mystery-in-Exotic Places Series by Marjorie Thelen

Exhilarating adventures await in these thrilling, archaeological mysteries by one of our favourite authors, Marjorie Thelen.

This collection of novels each features all different characters and surroundings, from the sunny beaches of Greece to the tropical jungles of Honduras. A  great cozy mystery crossed with an archaeological adventure Indiana Jones would be proud of!

2. The Haunted Bookshop Mystery Series by Alice Kimberly

Being a fan of all things paranormal and of course, a good mystery (especially those set in a mystery bookshop!), this series is a perfect blend of genres. Join good-girl Pen as she and her ghostly partner Jack Shepard PI, solve past and present mysteries together. We especially adore the friendly/flirty relationship between the pair as Jack welcomes Pen into his memories through her dreams. Another must read!

3. The Gower Street Detective by M. R. C. Kasasian

Told from the perspective of March, a strong willed female of the Victorian era, this series presents a fantastically murderous narrative in a humorously twisted way. The author provides his readers with such detail, such a magical way with words that it is easy to get lost in March’s thoughts, allowing the reader to completely immerse themselves in this Victorian (dare I say, steampunk?) mystery/comedy/thriller series.

4. Flavia De Luce Mystery Series by Alan Bradley

A delightfully fun series of books – dark, funny and intelligent. Flavia, our 11 year old protagonist, is a scientific genius and super sleuth! Described as a “cross between Dodie Smith… and the Addams Family”; “A dark nancy Dres set in a gothic Midsomer”, these books are bursting full of its twists, turns, suspense and surprises.

A fun, playful and exciting read for those still young at heart who also love a good dark mystery. Click here to join the Flavia De Luce fan club!

5. Jane Austen Mystery Series by Laura Levine

For something a little more light hearted, who can resist (author’s) wonderfully witty character, Jane Austen (who reminds us time and time again that she has’no relation!’ to the famous author of Pride & Prejudice). Follow the delightful Jane as she blunders and stumbles her way through family dilemmas, work, friendships, love and of course, mystery!
