Book Review: Heroes in the End by Marjorie Thelen

Combining two of my favourite things: mystery and interior design, Marjorie Thelen’s Fiona Marlowe series will have you hooked from the very first page! Read our book review on the first book in the three part saga, here.

Our favourite Interior Designer turned amateur sleuth is back in the third installment in the series, ‘Heroes in The End’, a thrilling conclusion to the tale following Fiona Marlowe’s transition from city chic designer to ranch housewife, with a few murder mysteries along the way!

Fiona Marlowe Series

As usual, author Marjorie Thelen’s characters are vividly brought to life, as are her accurate descriptions of ranch life, the rugged terrain and everyday tasks. The descriptive narrative creates a stunning visual in the readers mind of a hot, dry southeast Oregon dessert ranch.

I especially enjoyed the loving relationship between newlywed husband and wife team, Fiona and Jake. I do find both characters to be incredibly relatable: their love for each other, their fears, their troubles and triumphs – the emotions captured by the author feel true rather than forced.

Journeying with these lovable characters, you will be kept at the edge of your seat until the very end! Not to give you any spoilers BUT… if you have been paying attention to the series, you will finally find out whose bones were found in that hot spring! .
